Something a little different for the calendar this year — the UKRS WMAS, Shropshire County & Open Clout Championships. Clout is one of the oldest forms of target archery, shot at extreme distance towards a small flag on the ground rather than a conventional boss, and this Tassel-status event is a great chance to try it or sharpen your existing skills.
The format is a One-Way Double Metric Clout: a single 36-arrow clout shot in the morning, followed by a second 36-arrow clout after a comfort break. It’s open to all ages and bowstyles, with distances adjusted by age group under ArcheryGB rules — from 165m and 185m for the Open category down to 75m and 90m for the youngest juniors.
Entry costs £12.00 for seniors and £8.00 for juniors, payable via BACS or cheque to Audco Archery Club — please reference your payment with your surname and “Clout”. Entries close on Sunday 18th October 2026 or when the field is full.
WMAS and Shropshire County medals will be awarded on the double round for Recurve, Compound, Barebow and Longbow, with club medals awarded by bowstyle in the open category. All entries, including WMAS and Shropshire archers, are entered into the open category.
